The Ball

Last night we went the the annual Coast Guard Ball. John had to be there early for practice so we took our things and headed downtown. Upon arriving, we split up so we could both get ready...John to the Kou room for practice and me to the ladies room to get make-up and hair finished etc. That's when I realized I had left my jewelry, make-up, and hair pins at home on the counter. So, I pinned my hair as best I could and went with "the natural" look.
In our fancy schmancy clothes. The back is my favorite part of this dress, but I didn't get a picture of the back so maybe I'll have to put it on again and have John take some more pictures.

Yeah...
The flowers I won at the end of the night.
The salad...my friend, Katy, was laughing at me for taking pictures of the food. Whatever! I'm a blogger, yo! hehe.
Um...dinner was good, but I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture. So here's one of John being "dainty"...sort of.
Dessert was little passion fruit meringue pie. Super yummy, but soooooo sweet...John had to help me finish mine.
The surfboard they raffled off.

It was a fun night. They had childcare next door for the kids. There were a few speakers and some slide shows. After dinner, they had dancing and the music was SO much better than last year. We ended up heading home around 10 with sore feet and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! I'm already making plans in my head for next year!
