High School Tag
I have been tagged again! This time by my friend, Heather, about my High School years. Ugh. Here it goes:
1. Did you date someone from your school? I went on A date with someone from my school but did not date steadily. I had some friends I hung out with but never anything serious.
2. What kind of car did you drive? When I finally got my license at age 17, I drove my family's station wagon when I could. My main source of transportation was my bike. I would occasionally get rides with friends for activities and school.
3. Were you a party animal? Ha! I loved to be around friends and stay out way late for movie nights or just talking but never liked the "party" atmosphere. Never could understand why anyone would want to go to a crowded place with music so loud you couldn't hear anything and drink until you puked. Just wasn't appealing to me.
4. Were you considered a flirt? No way. I wasn't very comfortable talking to guys mostly because I either didn't want them to get the wrong idea or didn't want them to get the right idea. This is probably why I didn't date. Probably.
5. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? I played the flute in the marching band my freshman year for a couple of reasons. #1 - They were headed for a trip to Hollywood that year...Disneyland, Universal Studios, Six Flags, etc. Why would I miss that? and #2 - Taking Seminary for all 4 years meant making up 2 credits somewhere (either summer school or before school or after school classes)...that at least gave me a half a credit!
6. Were you a nerd? Probably. I wore the plaid flannel shirts, super baggy torn jeans, and rarely did anything with my hair. I went to the library during lunch because out of the 3 lunch hours, mine was never with any of my friends and we had closed campus. I took up through pre-calc/trig, tested out of english (basically taking the final instead of the class and that was my grade...how I made up my extra credits), and took classes like geology and history of art.
7. Were you on any varsity teams? Nope. I wanted to play softball but it just didn't work out.
8.Did you get suspended/expelled? Nope. I was way to "under the radar" for that.
9. Can you still sing the fight song? Probably if I heard it. I played it in band, after all!
12. What was your school's full name? Buena High School in Sierra Vista, Arizona (yes, it means Good High School)
13. School mascot? Fighting Colts and the colors were Blue and White.
14. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? I went to homecoming my Senior year with a buddy I worked with named Kai Torrez. Or, at least I THOUGHT we were buddies. Come to find out he liked me and I asked to go home early. I still regret going in the first place.
15. If you could go back and do it again, would you? No way! Well, maybe if I could go back with what I know now, I think it would have been a little better. Not much but just a little. AND I would put more effort into my school work.
16. What do you remember most about graduation? Making candy leis for all my fellow LDS classmates. A good many had never really talked to me, but I felt like it was graduation and everyone should have one. I was also SO happy to be heading away to college that I just couldn't believe it!
17. Where did you go senior skip day? To school. Anyone who skipped that day got in huge trouble. Besides, I had a bunch of tests that day.
18. Were you in any clubs? National Art Honors Society I think is all. I wanted extra time to work on my art projects and if you didn't have a club, you had to just sit in homeroom.
19. Have you gained some weight since then? Some? Holy cow yes! I was never super thin and I thought I was huge in high school, but I look back at the pictures and just wish I had know how great I looked back then.
21. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? It was last year and since John and I are the same age, we both had reunions but at different times of the year. So we didn't go to either one.
What? No questions about the security guards, probation officers, stick bombs, riding the bus, jobs, friends, or teachers? Wow...this was a lot less painful than I thought.
So I tag Brooke, Karrissa, Sarah, Heather M., Danielle, Candace, Keri, Gretchen, and whoever else reads this since I don't have my list in front of me and there wasn't a specific number of how many people to tag and I was just going to tag everyone. So Get to it! :0)
