The Daily Plate
A friend of mine recently introduced me to this website called TheDailyPlate. I signed up on the Livestrong website since the original one wasn't accepting new "members". Anyway...I've been trying to work on being more healthy for several years now with not much results. Many of my family members joined Weight Watchers and have had great success and I debated about joining too but the cost seems to be just a little too high for me. I don't have an extra $60/month or the time to go to meetings. Did I ever mention how cheap I am? So my friend suggested TheDailyPlate and I tried it. I love it! It gives you a place to enter your age, weight, height, activity level, and how many pounds you'd like to lose each week and then calculates how many calories you should be eating to achieve your goals. You can type in any food and most likely they will have it in their database. It keeps track of the foods you regularly eat and the exercises you do, etc. I had no idea how many calories I was eating when I went out to eat. Mostly it has made me more aware of what I'm eating and helping me make better choices. Give it a try if you'd like, its free! Just thought I share since I may not be the only one out there looking for something like this.
