Branching Off
So I have more pictures of our trip and I will be posting them when I get a chunk of time...probably tomorrow when John goes back to work.
We have moved to a new area. You all know this. We attended our church here for the first time yesterday. We knew there wouldn't be that many people there but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there and there were a few families. Yes! I was hoping there would be SOME kids for Miss Fabulous!
Church started and one of the first people who spoke said that they were happy to see all the visitors. They said that the visitors didn't know it, but they made up about 85% of the congregation. Wow! Looking around, I think that meant that there were 2 families with children (besides us) that are permanent and a few other people here and there.
There were 12 chairs set up for primary and the classes were Jr. and Sr. Primary. No CTR 5, no Sunbeams. This is a whole new world for us.
I'm not saying this is a bad thing. I think our little family can learn a LOT and learn to be more responsible in this little branch. I'm curious to see where they will want us to serve. We were immediately informed that the elder's quorum only had a President (due to lack of people for counselors) and that the Relief Society and the Primary need people. I guess we will see soon.
On the even brighter side, there are lots of activities going on! We are excited to get to know the people here and enjoy our work in this little Branch!
