Keeping you Posted
Hurray! The sewing is done and the machine is put away! Its been a long time coming and I'm glad to have the kitchen table back.
I've been roaming the house, gathering things we may need along our journey and trying to toss out all of the things we don't need at all. This, to me, is one of the perks of moving every few years. I get to completely de-clutter. I don't know if I'd do it otherwise.
Shhhh...don't tell, but I'm handing down my old iPod and DS to Miss Fabulous. I'm loading up her music on the iPod and bought a new Pony game to play on the DS. She IS spoiled. We had thought about replacing the semi-broken LMax before the trip, but she's been asking for a DS for so long and I rarely get the chance to play mine. As for the iPod, John won a new shuffle from the Biggest Loser competition he was in for work and he gave it to me. I'll load it with my favorite exercise music. The only drawbacks: its SO little and you can't skip songs. I better be sure I want to listen to the music before I load it!
We leave Hawaii in less than a week. The movers come on Monday. We will miss MF's kindergarten graduation by 4 days. She is doing great in school! I went in to help her teacher one day and one of the boys came over and said, "MF's mom. Let me show you what MF did." He walked me over to the Family Center (an area that has a little kitchen, washer and dryer, and all the little things to play "house"), opened the door under the kitchen sink, and told me, "She really needs to work on her cleaning skills. She didn't even separate anything. She just shoved it in." My thoughts..."Wow! You got her to clean up?!?"
Miss Fabulous has been pushing boundaries. She gets grounded a lot for doing the same things over and over. She comes by it honestly though. I don't remember caring if I was grounded or not. I just did what I wanted (within reason) and knew I'd have to take my consequences. Although I do remember thinking some of the rules were unreasonable, which is why I broke them over and over. I imagine that's pretty much what's going on in Miss Fab's head. She HAS been great about helping out with Star and doing whatever I ask...as long as that doesn't include cleaning her room.
Star is getting to be quite the little character. She plays chase and is getting really good at showing her impatience. She is so close to mastering the word "No". It seems like her goals in life are to get the Wii remotes, the phone, or the tissue box. For some reason, I think she might be my big questioner. Miss Fabulous didn't really ask why about many things. She also accepted my answers quite readily and usually tried hard to please. I think Star might be a totally different creature. Its like you can just see her taking it all in and the questions forming in her head. We'll see how she grows. Oh...and she is 22 lbs. and 30" tall. She is now wearing 18 month clothes.
Oh. I guess I better get a move on my day. Its our last Friday in Hawaii. Crazy!
