California...here we come!

On Thursday, May 20th, we flew away from Hawaii for the last time and arrived early Friday morning in LA. After picking up our rental car, we drove to get our personal car. Upon arrival, we were told that they didn't have it scheduled to be ready until the 28th...a few days after we had planned to leave California. John talked to them and asked if they could possibly have the car ready by the 25th and we went back to the car rental company, got a bigger car and headed out to Palm Springs to visit an uncle of mine.
We drove to Palm Springs, checked into our hotel (my uncle's house caught fire and is being renovated) and ran a few errands. He came to pick us up that evening and gave us a quick tour of the celebrity homes in the area. We walked around the town, enjoying the perfect evening weather.
The next day my sister and her friend flew in and met us all in Palm Springs at The Living Desert.
Miss Fabulous and Uncle Matt at the Living Desert trying to guess what each desert animal eats. Matt is especially interested. ;0)
Little Star petting one of the baby goats.
Miss Fab, John and Star riding the carousel.

Matt had a meeting so he left us for a bit and rejoined us for lunch at a burger place. With the 7 of us, we pretty much took up the whole place!
Miss Fab working on the tin from daddy's vanilla malt. She's lucky I don't like malt. The burgers were excellent and the company even better!

We then went to ride the tram up the mountain. It was a quick ride up to the top of the mountain and there was a beautiful view all the way!
MF at the top. It was pretty cold and windy up there. Look how high up we were!
On our way down we passed the other tram going up. On the top of one of the towers there is a helicopter pad. How scary would that be?
We totally enjoyed our very short stay in Palm Springs. We'd love to visit again and see more! A HUGE THANK YOU! to Uncle Matt for taking care of us while we were there!
Driving both in and out of Palm Springs we saw these dinosaurs. Miss Fabulous loved seeing them! We also saw the giant wind mills. There's something so mesmerizing and graceful about them. I just wanted to take tons of pictures of them...but I didn't.

Disneyland!
We headed to Disneyland on Monday the 24th.
Miss Fabulous in the Tea Cup with the Matterhorn in the background.
Riding the Tea Cup. We fit 4 of us in there. It was a pretty tight fit. I love this picture only because the lady in the background is texting while on the ride. Who does that?
MF got her face painted. She loved that she got to be a kitty.
Joanna (my sister), Ginger, John, Tina (John's sister), and Miss Fab getting off the Matterhorn ride. MF liked it okay. Its just a good thing that the line was only 10 minutes long!
My girl and I riding the cars. She did a great job driving!
California Adventure
The second day we headed over to California Adventure. We didn't do a whole lot but our favorite ride by far was the Toy Story ride. I think I could have gone on that one several times had the line not been so long.
We HAD to ride the Ferris Wheel. Miss Fabulous is all about Ferris Wheels right now so we rode it. I think it was a little bit of a disappointment to her. I think she thought it was a fast ride or something. It was fun to be able to see so far from the top.
That afternoon we went to eat dinner with the Princesses. We celebrated both girls birthday even though they aren't until August. We figured they won't be having any kind of a party when we get settled so we might as well celebrate at Disneyland!
The end of the day. We went over to watch the parade at Disneyland and get a few last souvenirs. We had a lot of fun visiting the parks but are somewhat relieved that that part of our trip is over! Bye-bye Anaheim, Hello San Diego!
