So this is John trying to do a post. So the past few days the surf on the south shore of Oahu has been great, the best swell so far this spring. I have been getting better at surfing a catching the big 4-5 foot or "Head High" waves and "BIG Rights and Lefts". A right is when you catch and wave and "shred" or cut down the face of the way to the riders "right" and the opposite for a "left". "Head High" means that when you are riding the wave the height of the wave relative to the surfer.

The place that we surf is called FLIES or INCINERATORS. The name Flies comes from the fact that the park you surf off of used to be a land fill and so it attracted "flies" and I guess there was an incinerator to burn the trash in the area. We here call it "PIER 4's" because we are taking over the spot.
