Sea Life Park

We went to Sea Life Park on Thursday. We thought Miss Fabulous would love it and we talked up the dolphins and fish like crazy until she was so excited to go, but a few minutes after we got there she tripped and fell and she didn't care after that. Also, she doesn't like it when the sun shines in her eyes and we were outside...where the sun shines. Anyway...it wasn't the big hit with Miss Fabulous that we thought it would be but John and I had a good time (in spite of the whining).
The dolphin show was pretty fun. They also have a whalphin...yep, part whale part dolphin.


There was a great area that Miss Fabulous LOVED where she could stand right next to the window and the fish just swam right there. It was pretty cool.

We went to the Sea Lion show and it was pretty fun too. Here, the sea lion just finished painting a picture. The park itself isn't very high-tech or very big but the two shows we saw were great and the trainers sure looked like they not only cared for the animals but were having a good time too.

This was a baby turtle named Sparkles that Miss Fabulous wanted to take home. It Was pretty cute.
Me holding a sea urchin in the touch pool. Miss Fabulous wouldn't even go near the water so John and I took turns keeping her from running away while the other got to stick their hands in and touch everything.
Miss Fabulous at the end of the day. I think she was happy we were leaving and headed out to get something to eat. We will probably go again because we liked it so much and hopefully next time she will love it!

Sounds like a fun place! We don't get out to do things like that very often. I am glad that you had fun even if Miss Fabulous was hesitant.

I went there once with Mariah's K-class. I thought it was pretty neat! You are right though, the facility could use a little work.

Great pics, Katie. I love the ones with Miss Fabulous looking at the fish and was it a sting ray? Isn't it funny how some big adventures turn out to be so uninteresting to kids, and other seemingly mundane things or places can be so fun for them? One of the great mysteries, I guess...

Nearly 5 weeks...

I've been told I need to update the blog so here are several pictures of little Star. She is now just over 11 lbs. and just shy of 23" long. She is just a bit big. Miss Fabulous was nearly 4 months old before she got as big as our Star! She is fun and really cuddly. She really loves to eat (thus the big size!) and sleep but seems to be wanting to be on the move. John has dubbed her "Scooter" because she is never where we put her. She rolled over from her back to her tummy the other day! Still not great at night...sometime she just wants to be awake, but last night she slept 7 hours straight and I'm hoping its the beginning of a trend! Miss Fabulous just LOVES her little sister and is always trying to help. MF is doing a little better in school with a lot of help from her teacher and some from us at home. We are starting her in a program at school where they help children deal with transition, which seems to be the biggest part of her problem. The progr...

Our Big News

In case you're like my mom, who can "never see anything in these pictures", it is baby #2 due at the beginning of August. Hopefully we get to keep this one...all signs say yes. Please keep us in your prayers!
