Heritage
We have been going to the Heritage Museum and Gardens every friday for their kids concerts.
The first week we went, Deb & Friends played for the kids. The music was cute and the kids loved being involved!
John had the day off so he came with us!
The second week was Toe Jam and the Puppet Band. We have seen this group a few times before and the kids LOVE them. I brought plenty of snacks thinking that would be enough to keep the kids occupied and close by.
There were a LOT more people and I was having a hard time keeping track of Star, Dash, and Miss Fabulous. Especially Dash. He didn't even want to stay in the concert area. Finally, I had to issue lockdown.
After the concert, we headed up to the carousel. This was the first time Dash got to ride and he didn't really like it. Good thing, because I wasn't doing to well riding it with him. Star and MF rode it 4 times in a row until the crowd got too big for my liking.
The third week was rainy...well, overcast...so they moved the concert inside. We saved some seats and went to play in the old car and wander around outside.
One exhibit on the grounds are all different types of gates. This was my favorite. The circle has a picture of a tree and says "And the tree was happy." I love that book.
We got back to find the room more than crowded. That was okay...we had saved enough seats and room for ourselves. The concert started and people just kept flowing in. It got to the point where people were standing all around the edges of the room and then they started coming and sitting on our feet and standing in front of us so I took the kids and left. I was SURE if there was an emergency, we'd all perish or be trampled. I took the kids to do a craft and we went home. We haven't gone back for another concert. I'll wait until the craziness dies down before we go back!!!
