Early April

John plays hockey.  He really tries and he is getting better at skating, and occasionally he will score.  He had a tournament one weekend so we went to watch him play.  I think I took a couple of videos, but no clear pictures of him actually playing.  I did, however, take lots of pictures of another team (the team John usually plays with...but didn't during this tournament) and a few pictures of my boy.

 It was REALLY warm one day and the girls begged to have the pool out.  Miss Fabulous dragged it out of storage, laid it out on the grass and filled it up.  She even found the swimsuits and got herself and Star ready.  I just took pictures.
 This little guy LOVES being outside.  If he can get out, he will. I let him wander around outside without his shoes on, but he wanted to partake in the water action too.  I ended up just disappearing his pants and diaper and snapping the onesie back up.  It made for some cute bum shots.  :)

 As much as he wanted to play in the water, he didn't actually want to SIT in the water.  MF to the rescue!  She put him on the folded slide and he sat on that with his feet in and played with his sisters.
Star wasn't nearly as keen on the water, but she loved watering my flowers.  She did a great job keeping them hydrated. 
They played most of the afternoon and I loved how peaceful everything was.  I did get some weeds pulled and some more bulbs moved.  It was VERY nice to just be outside!

I wish the teachers at school knew the MF we know and love. I hope some day she will catch the vision of how much happier she would be. Love you guys.

Reverting Back

Summer Fade

 Summer is drawing to an end. We have traveled to AZ and UT. Played far too many video games and watched entirely too much TV. Workbooks were provided by myself with incentive to anyone who finished would get a large prize...no takers. No mom school this year...that may be a thing of the past with all these kids growing up.  John announced his retirement for next year and we are on the hunt for a place to finally settle into for next year. Nearer to family sounds great. New England has a lot to offer too. Our money will stretch a lot farther in a LCOL area like Iowa or Ohio. We do love being near the ocean or water and did love Alaska. This is going to be harder than I thought. The kids are going back to school and, since we live in SoCal now, we will continue to experience summer. I'm still not sure what MissFab is doing this year. Star started her Sophomore year of high school and she is nearly a week in. Nearly 5 weeks...

I've been told I need to update the blog so here are several pictures of little Star. She is now just over 11 lbs. and just shy of 23" long. She is just a bit big. Miss Fabulous was nearly 4 months old before she got as big as our Star! She is fun and really cuddly. She really loves to eat (thus the big size!) and sleep but seems to be wanting to be on the move. John has dubbed her "Scooter" because she is never where we put her. She rolled over from her back to her tummy the other day! Still not great at night...sometime she just wants to be awake, but last night she slept 7 hours straight and I'm hoping its the beginning of a trend! Miss Fabulous just LOVES her little sister and is always trying to help. MF is doing a little better in school with a lot of help from her teacher and some from us at home. We are starting her in a program at school where they help children deal with transition, which seems to be the biggest part of her problem. The progr...
