Pumpkin Patch and Carving!
Miss Fabulous' class went to the Pumpkin Patch as a field trip and I took the opportunity to be a chaperone. I left Star with a friend (thanks Elaine!) and drove out to meet the buses at Aloun Farms.
The pumpkin patch. The first thing we did there was divide the children amongst the chaperones. There were enough chaperones that we each only had 2 children. We listened to safety instructions, were given boundaries as to where we could pick, and then sent over to the hay ride. The kids didn't seem to care too much about the hay ride...they were more interested in how big of a pumpkin they were going to pick!
Miss Fabulous with her pumpkin. She found hers right away and picked a great one. I found mine (chaperones and children paid for their pumpkins in advance) and we went looking for the "perfect" one for the other little girl (we'll call her Apple) we had with us. MF was great carrying her pumpkin around but I could tell it was getting heavy and Apple just could not find the "perfect" one. I think we spent the majority of the time wandering all over that patch with no luck whatsoever until I told Apple that she would not be able to get a pumpkin if she could not find it soon and Voila! the perfect pumpkin was magically right there by her feet. I'm pretty sure I had pointed it out several times before along with a half million others. Whew! Thank goodness we found perfection.
Then we waited. And waited. While we waited I took pictures. Here's MF posing with the tomato photo opp and Apple waiting for her turn.
