Boxed up goodness!

So a couple of weeks ago I ordered this:
Well, maybe not the box...but more like what was inside. Thank goodness for FREE shipping!!! Do you see how much that is? $45.50 YIKES!!! Hawaii is determined to kill my pocketbook.
THIS was inside! Oh Fabric! Hmmmm...not exactly what I had in mind but when you shop for fabric online, you never know what you are really getting. I can sure still use it...you betcha I can. I just have to change the picture in my head.
Oh and these came too. YAY! I'm planning on making myself a purse out of one of these...can you tell which one? Take a guess...and no...its not white.
And then Super Surprise!!! I got a Halloween Package from Carrot Jello who, by the way, is quite amazing and has the best music EVER! She had a little drawing and I was randomly chosen to receive this:
Carrot is so famous, she doesn't even need a return address. :0)

And here's the loot! I even wiped my counter top off before pulling out the goods. I'm just that good of a housekeeper. Oh, yeah...the candy corn are all gone and I think there's only one truffle left...never mind, it just disappeared. Miss Fabulous immediately put away the cookie cutters in their proper drawer (I swear she's O.C.D.) as soon as she got home from school and also confiscated all the rings and headband (see below). John came home from work and opened the ginger cookies which are from a Swedish recipe made in Canada. I have issued a "hands off" on the Caramel apple cider...THAT is ALL mine!
As for the rest, we will get to the El Guapo cinnamon sticks, the glow in the dark mask, the movie and the monster story cd soon (MF has been eyeing the cd too)! I'm thinking the mask might be fun for our hide and seek in the dark. We play in the dark so that John and I can hide too. :0)

Geez, I did that on a birthday card I was trying to send too.
I need some sleep.

Summer Fade

 Summer is drawing to an end. We have traveled to AZ and UT. Played far too many video games and watched entirely too much TV. Workbooks were provided by myself with incentive to anyone who finished would get a large prize...no takers. No mom school this year...that may be a thing of the past with all these kids growing up.  John announced his retirement for next year and we are on the hunt for a place to finally settle into for next year. Nearer to family sounds great. New England has a lot to offer too. Our money will stretch a lot farther in a LCOL area like Iowa or Ohio. We do love being near the ocean or water and did love Alaska. This is going to be harder than I thought. The kids are going back to school and, since we live in SoCal now, we will continue to experience summer. I'm still not sure what MissFab is doing this year. Star started her Sophomore year of high school and she is nearly a week in. Nearly 5 weeks...

I've been told I need to update the blog so here are several pictures of little Star. She is now just over 11 lbs. and just shy of 23" long. She is just a bit big. Miss Fabulous was nearly 4 months old before she got as big as our Star! She is fun and really cuddly. She really loves to eat (thus the big size!) and sleep but seems to be wanting to be on the move. John has dubbed her "Scooter" because she is never where we put her. She rolled over from her back to her tummy the other day! Still not great at night...sometime she just wants to be awake, but last night she slept 7 hours straight and I'm hoping its the beginning of a trend! Miss Fabulous just LOVES her little sister and is always trying to help. MF is doing a little better in school with a lot of help from her teacher and some from us at home. We are starting her in a program at school where they help children deal with transition, which seems to be the biggest part of her problem. The progr...
