Swamped

I'm in need of a brain transplant. My last brain died about 4 years ago when Miss Fabulous was born. Or maybe I gave her every ounce of memory I had because I don't remember anything and can't seem to focus long, and she remembers EVERYTHING and has great concentration...for a 4 year old.
Here's how the last few days have been going around here:
John got off early from work on Monday (because he had to go back that evening) and since we'd been eyeing new mattresses at costco and they were on sale, we decided to go take another look at them. When we got there they were no longer on sale so we figured we would check out a few other places and see what kinds of prices there were. We ended up purchasing new mattresses at a place 5 minutes away (costco is quite a bit further).
Tuesday I had people over for our little Lunch Bunch that meets once a month and we do a themed potluck. This month's theme was favorite picnic food. So I spent the morning cleaning like mad and then a half hour before everyone came I sent Miss Fabulous out to play on the playground...just out front...while I finished up what I was doing. I started peeling potatoes and the phone rings. Its John. Apparently MF got bored at the playground and decided to head a couple streets over to our friend's house. Thankfully they called him (and he called me) because I was just heading out to check on her. I'm not sure what to do with her. I can't tell you how many times I've caught her sneaking out to go ride her bike on her own. She has no fear of strangers and it gets nerve wracking sometimes.
Anyway, the lunch was fun...our friends were coming to it so they just brought MF home when they came. A couple of hours later John came home and we started re-arranging furniture to #1 make room for the new bed and #2 arrange things so we can fit a crib in too when the time comes. It lasted until some silly argument and John took MF on a walk and came back with Burger King. Feed me and I'll be your friend.
Wednesday...cleaning more and more re-arranging, made rolls and a butter-rum glazed applesause cake for Enrichment night at the church, waited for the delivery guys to bring the mattresses but by 10 minutes to 5:00 I finally got a shower and left for the church. John's had a work thing every afternoon or night this week and last night wasn't any different so I took Miss Fab with me.
Today...story time at the library, dance class, grocery shopping, laundry, clean the kitchen from my roll and cake mess, and try to get rid of the headache creeping in. I am soooo complaining but not, because time seems to fly by when I'm so busy but at the same time I almost feel like I'm in a state of panic half the time. I'm short tempered with MF and haven't had the time to spend with her. She's growing so fast and wants to do everything I ask her to (except clean her room) just for a little attention from me. It makes me teary every time I think about it. At least she'll have fun tonight...John has a work dinner thingy and I'm going with him so she gets to go to her friend's house and play. And tomorrow night is my bunco night and John usually takes Miss Fabulous out on a daddy/daughter date while I'm gone. I am just ready for this week to be over and for our visitors to come next week!
Things will be fine here. I am really good at making mountains out of molehills and being a little over dramatic. Hmmm...maybe that's where MF gets it. :0)

I totally know what you mean when you said you are short tempered and crazy when you are busy. I totally get that way to and then I am like, seriously, is it all worth me being impatient with McKinley, probably not! I am sure next week will be better!

I know what you mean too. After coming home from a 13 hour shift or a ten hour shift and school it is a little disheartening to see the status of our home... that we pay money for... in shambles. It is the center of my anger. LOL! How I wish I could go on vacation. From EVERYTHING!

Katie! I am so excited that you are having a girl! It will be fun to see how different she is then miss fabulous! Because, you know she will be different. ;)
Sorry about the rough week.
I wish we could be there with you. We are reserving March 2010, by the way. We don't know the dates yet, but we are planning on it. I think that will be Christmas or birthdays for next year. I need to call you. I have news!
