Beach bums

Miss Fabulous and I have spent the last 2 days at the beach. I have a little spot on my back that got burned. Miss Fabulous came out of the 2 day party un-toasted much to my delight! I don't know about any of the parents out there but I can burn myself to a crisp and figure, hey, its my own fault, but when Miss Fabulous gets burned I just feel like a lousy parent. Anyhow. Here are a few pictures...
Miss Fabulous playing on the rocks with her friends. Seconds after I took this picture a wave threw her off balance and she scraped her knee...again.
After her scraped knee. Yes, she's crying. Yes, I am taking a picture of it. If I wait for her to not be crying...I may be waiting quite a while. Its a good one of her cute freckles though.
The Lagoon where we were swimming. The waves were just beautiful and the temperature was Perfect!
This is from day one at the beach. We took the Catamaran for an hour and a half ride and it was great! Miss Fabulous had scraped her knee about 20 minutes into the ride and didn't want to be on the boat anymore but we made it! We went to lunch with a few of the ladies that went and ended up getting stuck downtown until about 7:30ish (if you want to know why check the Honolulu news...so sad!!!). It was a long day but the boat was fun and we met new friends too!

Our beach has been sunny this week, but not warm. Its FREEZING here!

It is so nice to run into you on here, Katie! I do like the up close picture of Miss Fabulous, even if she is crying. She sounds like so much fun! I am also jealous of your time sunny days at the beach..I hate the cold! I would enjoy the summer so much more if it came in the winter, too. :)

Reverting Back

Summer Fade

 Summer is drawing to an end. We have traveled to AZ and UT. Played far too many video games and watched entirely too much TV. Workbooks were provided by myself with incentive to anyone who finished would get a large prize...no takers. No mom school this year...that may be a thing of the past with all these kids growing up.  John announced his retirement for next year and we are on the hunt for a place to finally settle into for next year. Nearer to family sounds great. New England has a lot to offer too. Our money will stretch a lot farther in a LCOL area like Iowa or Ohio. We do love being near the ocean or water and did love Alaska. This is going to be harder than I thought. The kids are going back to school and, since we live in SoCal now, we will continue to experience summer. I'm still not sure what MissFab is doing this year. Star started her Sophomore year of high school and she is nearly a week in. Nearly 5 weeks...

I've been told I need to update the blog so here are several pictures of little Star. She is now just over 11 lbs. and just shy of 23" long. She is just a bit big. Miss Fabulous was nearly 4 months old before she got as big as our Star! She is fun and really cuddly. She really loves to eat (thus the big size!) and sleep but seems to be wanting to be on the move. John has dubbed her "Scooter" because she is never where we put her. She rolled over from her back to her tummy the other day! Still not great at night...sometime she just wants to be awake, but last night she slept 7 hours straight and I'm hoping its the beginning of a trend! Miss Fabulous just LOVES her little sister and is always trying to help. MF is doing a little better in school with a lot of help from her teacher and some from us at home. We are starting her in a program at school where they help children deal with transition, which seems to be the biggest part of her problem. The progr...
