Spring Break!
I love Spring Break! Some parents dread it, but I LOVE having Miss Fabulous home from school. I miss her when she's away and I worry about how she is doing. The only thing about Spring Break and having her home is that she gets bored easily with just mom and Star around. Thankfully, we had friends come visit us for most of the week so we were plenty busy!
Monday we went with some friends to Ko Olina and while we were out there we stopped to see this boat. I doubt you can tell what it is without its sails etc. and its kind of tucked away but it is the "Black Pearl". Filming starts here in June (we are just going to miss it!) but John thinks he can get out there to see it before we go. They are doing a ton of work on it but its pretty cool to have here!

That night Miss Fabulous lost another tooth. She didn't put it in her special pillow so the tooth fairy skipped her that night. Good thing she found the pillow the next day and the tooth fairy finally came!
John took the week off so he could spend time with us and our friends. On Tuesday, he took them to the USS Arizona Memorial and then we headed to the beach for some boogie boarding.
DAY 1

The children playing at the beach. We sure had fun! Thanks guys!

Contemplating their city.
DAY 2
DAY 3
Wednesday we headed up to the North Shore to see turtles, feed fish, and get some Matsumotos! It was Jim and Brooke's 9th wedding anniversary so that evening we dropped the kids off at a friend's house (thanks Monique!) and headed off to Hale'iwa Joe's!
The happy couple!
The view from our table. It was a little rainy that day but it was nice and warm and beautiful! We LOVE this place. It is completely open and they light the tiki torches as dusk starts to fall.
This is what I had for dinner...the steamed fish (sorry its not a great picture!). Yum! John ate my rice and I ate a good part of his mashed potatoes...I could have eaten a mountain of them!
What John had. Yes, its a huge (but delicious) slab of prime rib. So wrong and yet so tasty all at the same time. We enjoyed the time away from the kids and with our great friends!!!
DAY 4
Jim, Brooke, and cute little Logan at the Laie Temple Visitor's Center. We stopped there before heading to the PCC.
Star sitting by John. John is trying to start a fire with sticks. He managed to get a little smoke, which was more than any of the rest of us got!
Saturday we had a pretty slow morning. Around 10 we decided to go for a hike up to Manoa Falls. We got there just as it started to rain. We were all set to go so we pulled out a couple of umbrellas and hats and headed off to get muddy! It was beautiful and the rain didn't last very long. Just long enough for all of us to get good and wet. Miss Fabulous was great and didn't complain at all and the babies both fell asleep in their backpacks.
DAY 4
John and Jim went golfing out at Kaneohe MCB while Brooke and I sat around chatting and making cinnamon rolls. We drove out to Bellows and met the boys there for a little more boogie boarding. We had only been there for about a half hour when some clouds came in and poured rain all over us. Well...we headed home and got cleaned up, made a quick dinner and called it a night!
DAY 6
Saturday we had a pretty slow morning. We got home, ate some lunch and headed out to the West Coast. John took Jim and Brooke snorkeling while I took the three kids to Costco to get some seafood. We love that they have great deals on Crab and Prawns on Fridays and Saturdays! I wandered around and MF and I sampled a few things and then headed back to pick the snorkelers (?) up. When we got home, John started cooking. We LOVE seafood night! We all ate WAY too much but it was SOOOO good!
DAY 7
Sunday. Star woke up with a bit of a temperature but Brooke and I were singing with a few other ladies at church so we had to go. John stayed just long enough to hear us sing and then took the poor baby home to rest. The rest of us followed after the first hour. Jim and Brooke packed up their things and searched the house for anything they may have forgotten. That afternoon, John took them out to walk up to the Makapu'u lighthouse. I stayed home with my girls and made veggie lasagna, french bread, and apple pie.
Jim, Brooke, and Logan left early Monday morning...headed back home to their other 3 boys and life in general. We will be seeing them again in June, on our way to Massachusetts. We had a wonderful time with them and loved meeting Logan. We are so glad you were able to visit!!!
