Extra Crispy!!!

For those of you fortunate enough to live in a cold climate...don't you LOVE IT! For those of you living in the warmer areas...don't you miss it??? I really love the Fall and the Winter. It is one of the things I have missed living in Hawaii. I love the cold weather fashions and the "comfort" foods. I love the closeness of the season and the anticipation of the coming Holidays. I love crunchy leaves falling from trees. I LOVE the crisp air and the hurried feeling that comes with the cozy-curl-up-on-the-couch-with-hot-chocolate feeling. I really missed all of this last year when we stayed in Hawaii for Christmas. This year I'm taking it all in! The evening we flew in Fae and I helped rake and clean up the leaves in the back yard. Fae was thrilled to play in the piles of leaves with the other kids and I was just thrilled to be out in the cold air. We have been hitting the stores doing a little shopping at a time and I am now starting feel the Christmas excitement too. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Thanksgiving too. Not so much the eating part, although that's really good too, but just being together and enjoying the day. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week and soon Christmas will come and go and we will be heading home. Hopefully it won't go by that fast but I have the sneaky feeling it will. I wish everyone a Crispy Crunchy Thanksgiving and when you're raking leaves in the yard...think of what fall would be like without fallen leaves and cold weather!

I love fall, but not winter. I don't know if I would like living somewhere there were no real seasons...

Fall is my very favorite season. I grew up in Florida and I didn't really experience fall (and winter) until I went to college in Minnesota. I felt so cheated! All those colors are absolutely worth all the raking!
