Whatnot

I finally have Star's quilt done and I love how it turned out. Too bad my pictures leave a little to be desired... One of the little birds I put on it.
Here you can see two other birds too.
Here's Miss Fabulous all ready for school. On this day we just went for evaluations but she really wanted to wear her uniform and take her backpack.
She is SO excited to start school!
She keeps asking for a cell phone though to put in the little pouch on the shoulder strap. I may have to cut it off just so I don't have to be asked any more. :0)
On the 1st of August, John and I went to the Coast Guard Ball down in Waikiki.
We enjoyed ourselves but with me being so close to my due date I was just really tired by 8:30. We stayed until the speeches were over and headed home. It was nice to dress up and go out though, especially since we probably won't be doing much of that in the next little while.

The quilt is great! I have never been a quilter, so I admire anyone that can do it!

Fae's backpack looks so big. It's a good thing we got the little one. Your dress looks redder in the pictures than when you tried it on in the stores. pretty though.

The potty thing you commented on my blog... I've heard from my friend the preschool teacher that it is pretty common around the time school starts and the first few weeks after. Be sure to send an extra set of clothes just in case :)

I can't believe how big miss fabulous looks all ready school!
I am excited for our new Kindergarteners! They are going to love school and do so great!

Reverting Back

Summer Fade

 Summer is drawing to an end. We have traveled to AZ and UT. Played far too many video games and watched entirely too much TV. Workbooks were provided by myself with incentive to anyone who finished would get a large prize...no takers. No mom school this year...that may be a thing of the past with all these kids growing up.  John announced his retirement for next year and we are on the hunt for a place to finally settle into for next year. Nearer to family sounds great. New England has a lot to offer too. Our money will stretch a lot farther in a LCOL area like Iowa or Ohio. We do love being near the ocean or water and did love Alaska. This is going to be harder than I thought. The kids are going back to school and, since we live in SoCal now, we will continue to experience summer. I'm still not sure what MissFab is doing this year. Star started her Sophomore year of high school and she is nearly a week in. Nearly 5 weeks...

I've been told I need to update the blog so here are several pictures of little Star. She is now just over 11 lbs. and just shy of 23" long. She is just a bit big. Miss Fabulous was nearly 4 months old before she got as big as our Star! She is fun and really cuddly. She really loves to eat (thus the big size!) and sleep but seems to be wanting to be on the move. John has dubbed her "Scooter" because she is never where we put her. She rolled over from her back to her tummy the other day! Still not great at night...sometime she just wants to be awake, but last night she slept 7 hours straight and I'm hoping its the beginning of a trend! Miss Fabulous just LOVES her little sister and is always trying to help. MF is doing a little better in school with a lot of help from her teacher and some from us at home. We are starting her in a program at school where they help children deal with transition, which seems to be the biggest part of her problem. The progr...
