Stop the Craziness
Nearly 3 months? True, I was gone to visit my parents for 7 weeks, but I probably could have posted something when I got back at the beginning of January. Wait...no, I couldn't. I have been swamped.
I'm really trying to keep up on this blog. I've done it for so long and over all I'm happy with it. I wish I had more time to create backgrounds, post amazing pictures, discuss life in general, and rave about my children. These days, I'm lucky to get a post or two on FB and check to see what my friends and family are doing.
I have been trying to keep my house somewhat clean, the laundry caught up, dishes done all the time, and yummy food for my family. I'm also 29 weeks pregnant and some days I just don't feel like doing ANYTHING.
Miss Fabulous returned to school at the beginning of January. We will see how she is doing when I go visit with her teacher tomorrow evening. So far, we know she has been punched in the face by another girl and received a bus slip for not sitting in her seat (because the two other children that are assigned that seat wouldn't make room for her). Honestly, it doesn't seem to matter if I homeschool her or she goes to public school. She still gets in trouble and I'm constantly stressed about her. She tries really hard to be helpful and make good choices, but I think she might be blissfully unaware how much MORE effort life requires. Sometimes I wish I was just as unaware. I have a feeling that she will always baffle me.
Star has proclaimed she has a baby in her tummy too. I don't think this is uncommon for this age, but she calls hers a "food baby". She is very matter of fact about it and her baby grows every time she eats a lot. She says her food baby will come out when this new baby is born and that the new baby will have to share its toys with the food baby. I just chuckle and watch her trying to figure things out. She has started trying to spell her name. She gets the first two letters pretty well but after that... What can I say? She's only 3 and I'm quite proud that she is even trying. Even more than the name, I LOVE how she draws people. I'll have to take a picture and post one. She is still loud and overly dramatic, but is amazingly helpful when asked and has quite a cute relationship with her brother.
Dash is growing like a weed!!! He is 3 inches shorter than Star and is starting to spout out new words all the time. Most recently: Breakfast, lunch, head, hands, hat, train, drink, and draw. As I type this, Star has him sitting in a tiny box and she is pushing him around...oh, wait...now they have switched places. I love to watch these two interact. They aren't always wonderful with each other. Dash loves to grab handfuls of his sister's hair and just pull. Its all I can do to pry the hair out of his hands sometimes. And she has put more than a couple bruises on his little face. Dash is working on potty training off and on. I think he wants to, but I'm not sure I'm ready to push it that much. Am I ready to not buy a bunch of diapers for him or change stinky pants? Absolutely. Am I ready to clean up pee messes everywhere and poopy underwear? Not so much. He says potty and sometimes tells me he's stinky before he is. On those occasions, I take him to the potty and he has gone a couple of times. I'm not too consistent, but I'm planning to work on it more this summer.
I'm feeling pretty good. Some days are better than others. I've been a little blah the last two days, but I'm still getting my work done and that makes me a little happier.
John is busy as usual. Scouts, basketball, bowling, hockey, cars (his car keeps acting up and he has been fixing cars for other people too), etc. He keeps busy but I think he'd just like a little time to play with his boat, golf, fish, etc. I know how he feels. I have a list of crafts I'd love to do and places I'd like to go, but for now I'll just keep cleaning, cooking, taking care of littles, driving to and from errands and activities, and working on keeping my family healthy and happy. I can't really ask for more.
